I really love helping people craft their legacies and helping them ensure their affairs are put in order in such a way that makes the next chapter for their family a pleasurable one. This involves firstly, being a great listener. Secondly, explaining things really well and helping clients understand their legal options and lastly, it sometimes involves mediating and negotiating difficult relational and legal difficulties with various parties. I especially enjoy listening to people’s stories and how they got to the stage of life they are at now.
I have helped families with legal and relational strains communicate to each other effectively and mediate various legal solutions to their issues with delicacy and effectiveness. In our discussions I often can cut straight to the heart of the problem and find a solution. In crafting their legacies it often involves helping multiple family members sensitively draft their own wills and trusts.
I have twelve years’ experience in private client work including drafting wills, codicils, trust work and administering estates/probate work. I have run my own practice for nine of these years and as well as being a UK Solicitor, I am an Attorney of the High Court South Africa as well as Conveyancer and Notary Public South Africa.
I am originally from South Africa and am married to Lauren, and have three children Benjamin, Lillia and Sophia. I am a non-executive director of Sunfield Home (Non Profit Company), a home for the intellectually disabled. I enjoy assisting organisations with strategic and legal advice.
